It’s always a bummer when I make incredible friends in Boise… who didn’t know me years ago when they got married. As a Boise wedding photographer now, it’s such a shame when I find out I could have shot my friends’ wedding if only I had met them a few months before 😉 Thankfully, I love to remind them that it’s never too late to get the wedding photos of your dreams. Whether you didn’t know what style you truly loved when you got married, or photography wasn’t a priority then, or it just wasn’t in the budget- I love that more and more of my friends and couples are asking me to take their anniversary and/or vow renewal photos. Some people tell me that they wish they had eloped or knew a Boise elopement photographer back in the day that fit their more outdoorsy adventurous style, but no fear. I’m HERE for you!
I first met Glenna when we were both Boise newborn photographers working locally in Boise hospitals. We clicked immediately and at that time, I was starting to dream about breaking into engagement & wedding photography. I took some casual anniversary photos for them on their second anniversary in McCall and that shoot pretty much solidified in my mind that couples photography was for me. I loved that the whole session just felt like hanging out- lots of laughs, jokes, and of course, mountains. It’s still one of my favorite sessions.
Fast forward a couple more years, and I watched my dear friend go through some of the most serious ups and downs she will ever experience in her life. 2017 was a year of extreme ups and downs. Between the birth of her son and the loss of a parent, it was definitely an emotional rollercoaster of a year. In October, I was already dreaming and planning the fall elopement shoot of my dreams. After models fell through and it wasn’t quite working out how I wanted, I asked Glenna and Alex if they would be down to turn a styled shoot into a real anniversary session. We borrowed a camper from a friend and Glenna and I went to La Niege to rent a real wedding dress. And at dusk high above the Snake River, Glenna and Alex read love letters to one another. I was silently crying. It might be four years late, but it felt so special to document their life in Boise as a family and take Boise wedding photos. It has truly been an honor to have Glenna, Alex, and now Lincoln in my life for the past few years. Watching their beautiful family morph and change over time has been such a gift. I’m constantly inspired by Glenna’s optimistic spirit and ability to love everyone around her with so much passion. I hope everyone has a Glenna in their life.
