Two of my favorite wine-drinking, dog-loving friends have hired me for their anniversary photos for the last three years. I’ve known Emily for several years because we both used to work together at Bella Baby Photography in Downtown Boise at the hospital. We quickly became friends when we realized we both love a great happy hour and traveling and adventures. Thankfully, after we both quit our day jobs at the hospital, we stayed in touch and I got to meet her husband, Tucker, as well.
Emily and Tucker have hired me for several years to capture their anniversaries and celebrate each phase of their life together. We’ve camped in the Sawtooths together in early June, gone to the Bruneau Sand Dunes for a champagne toast, and last year we decided to adventure to the mountains for a fall picnic session. We’ve nailed almost every season with their anniversary shoots and it’s always such a blast whenever I get a text from Emily asking what I think about her creative idea for the next one. Since we had gotten fancy for the prior two anniversary sessions, Emily said she wanted to dress things down in a more casual tone – fleece vests, hiking boots, and flannel. With styling from Emily Aitken Events, we created a foothills s’mores picnic scene in the hills and spent an evening stuffing our faces with marshmallows and drinking wine. It was the perfect mountain getaway for the night and we had so much fun laughing on the perfect fall evening!
