I met this super fun couple at a wedding I shot in 2018. Michael is the older brother of one of my sweet bride, Jeana, who married Cody at Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall. At Jeana and Cody’s wedding, there was one other couple on the dance floor busting moves on the same level as Jeana and Cody. I was lucky enough to meet Michael’s sweet girlfriend at the time, Jo, who danced her booty off all night long. We laughed together and bonded over her moves that translated into some hilarious dancing photos. I always love the people who shamelessly dance on the dance floor because it creates the best photos. 😉
Fast forward 6 months, Jo emailed me to let me know she was ENGAGED and Michael had proposed. I was immediately SO excited and immediately let her know I was available for an engagement session. We made plans for a wintery Swan Falls engagement session in January, but as the scheduled day crept closer, there was no sign of snow or winter weather on the horizon. However, we went forward with our plans and I decided to take their photos at one of my favorite locations! The Snake River Canyon is within an hour of Boise and it’s majestic year-round, no matter the season or weather.
These two were SUCH a joy to photograph. We played music on Bluetooth speakers the entire time and laughed non-stop. It’s such a privilege as a photographer when you can immediately help a couple feel themselves and comfortable. There was zero time needed to warm up for Michael and Jo. The second I started shooting, these two were laughing and cuddling and I barely had to ask them to do a thing. It was so effortless.
Congrats to these two sweet love birds!
