Matt and Andrea’s Atlanta Idaho Wedding at the Lazy H Ranch felt like a huge party. When Andrea first emailed me, she said they wanted their cozy mountain wedding to feel like a house party with a side of a wedding. The most important decision for their wedding was finding a place where everyone gathered in one place for as long as possible. The Lazy H Ranch fit their wedding venue dreams.
As far as non-traditional wedding venues go, Lazy H Ranch couldn’t have been more of a dream. With room for 55 people to sleep on site, all of their guests stayed for 5 nights. It felt like a giant sleepover and family reunion with a wedding all in one. For days, everyone hiked, enjoyed the nearby Hot Springs, swam at the pool, went fly fishing, had bonfires, and laughed over lawn and board games. What a dream come true!
Non-Traditional Airbnb Wedding Venues in Idaho
If you’re hoping to plan an Atlanta Idaho Wedding, The Lazy H Ranch is the only location that hosts weddings. However, if you love the idea of a non-traditional Airbnb wedding in the mountains, Idaho offers so many amazing options. Candid Wedding Photos
Andrea emphasized to me that she dreamed of capturing the memories above anything else. She said she wanted to feel present all day long. With the exception of a few formal wedding day portraits of their families, they wanted less posed, candid moments. Preserving the natural, genuine feelings all day became my priority for shooting their day. And I loved every minute of it! Sometimes stepping back into the role of an observer allows the truly memorable moments unfold in front of me. Without interfering or directing a moment, the true personalities of the people in front of me can come out. When Andrea and Matt started planning an Atlanta Idaho wedding, their goal was to create memories they’d remember forever. That simple!
My Favorite Memories From Their Atlanta Wedding
As a wedding photographer, I look forward to experiencing so many memories with my couples. Their day was full of hilarious, touching moments. A memory I’ll never forget was Andrea’s impromptu first look with her dad. He walked into her bridal suite not knowing she had just put on her wedding dress, so they shared an unplanned father daughter first look. Everyone in the room cried.
Then, during Andrea and Matt’s first look, Matt’s tears brought tears to my eyes. I’ll never forget the way Matt dropped to his knees when he saw his bride. Also, he repeated, “you’re so beautiful and I’m so lucky,” over and over again. And lastly, I loved their ceremony so much. During their wedding ceremony, they chose to have a ring warming ceremony. Their wedding rings were passed around to every guest. Every guest held their rings in their palm and said a silent prayer while cupping their rings. Blessing the rings is a Norwegian tradition! I loved watching every family member and guest hold their rings with emotion and warmth.
Wedding Vendors near Atlanta Idaho
There are no wedding vendors living in Atlanta Idaho. Planning an Atlanta Idaho wedding may sound daunting without anything ‘local’ nearby, but there are wedding vendors willing to travel! The closest major city is Boise, Idaho 2.5 hours away. Most Idahoans are not afraid of traveling on dirt roads or taking an adventurous route to get to scenic places. Atlanta Idaho is such a special location. For most locals, it feels like a gift to travel there to celebrate a wedding! And I am one of them!
