Bailey and Bo wanted their Moscow, Idaho wedding to be a party no one would ever forget. I may not be a Moscow Idaho Wedding Photographer, but I was born and raised in Moscow so you could say I’m an expert on the Palouse! If you’ve never visited the home of the Idaho Vandals, I highly recommend visiting the Palouse! I’ve always said that Moscow reminds me of Ireland in the spring and Italy in the fall when the rolling hills are golden yellow. It’s the perfect cozy college town. Bailey and Bo’s love story started in Moscow. It was only fitting that their wedding take place on a perfect summer day in July on the Palouse! As a Boise wedding photographer, it’s always a treat to travel up to North Idaho away from the city. Also, my parents live there so free lodging isn’t so bad 😉
Moscow Idaho Wedding Venues
If you are planning a Moscow Idaho Wedding and you are still looking for venues, here is a list of my favorites! There are limited options on the Palouse, but there are several gorgeous Moscow Idaho Wedding Venues. The Palouse might be pretty small, but the entire region is seriously so stunning. Moscow Idaho has no shortage of beautiful landscapes and photo locations. Don’t let the limited number of wedding vendors deter you! Moscow is located near the major city of Spokane, Washington. Wedding vendors travel to Moscow frequently to serve their couples and clients!

Bailey told me the moment we had coffee that it was important to her to have her dream photos somewhere beautiful. With 500 guests and few venue options, she was stuck with an indoor only venue. Wedding planning can be so tough in Idaho with limited vendors. However, I knew it was possible to make her boho wedding vision a reality! I highly encourage first looks for all my weddings. If you’re a bride with an indoor venue and love my outdoor work, it’s still possible to get the best of both worlds! Bailey chose an incredible boho lace wedding gown by Made with Love, an Australian designer. Her florist happened to be a family member who created boho bouquets with King Protea to accent the bridesmaids’ dusty blue dresses. The wedding day vibe felt summery, boho, and effortless!
their story // Moscow Idaho Wedding Photographer
Bailey and Bo’s story is filled with as much awkwardness as it does sweetness. With a little help (*cough*) manipulation (*cough*) from their friend Chris, Bo asked Bailey out in High School. Chris told Bo that Bailey already had a crush on him, but that wasn’t entirely the truth. Bo gave her a locket on their first date. Collective awwww, right? They dated as Moscow Bears attending Moscow High School and through their years at the University of Idaho. Bailey described Bo to me as the sweetest boy she had ever met- and it is SO true! I just love a groom who gives me a hug when I show up for getting ready photos and can relax all day. The entire day was filled with laughter and more tears than I could capture. The love for these two was overflowing!
the first look – Moscow Mountain
I love reminding my couples that if photos are their priority on their wedding day, you should feel free to leave your venue! I typically arrive to my weddings early and like to scout locations within a 10-15 minute drive of the venue. Not only does that provide the flexibility to get photos that are more unique, but it gives you a moment of privacy away from the chaos of the wedding day totally alone. The truth of all weddings is that you really only get a limited amount of time to spend together as husband and wife on your actual wedding day. A first look in a secluded off-site location is a perfect way to do that! As a Boise wedding photographer, I’m experienced in planning special off-site first looks.
One of the things I work extremely closely with my brides is their timeline. For Bailey and Bo’s Moscow Idaho Wedding, we pushed the first look back several hours before the ceremony. We rented party buses and limos from Lewiston and planned to have a magical first look in the forest. This also allowed them to share an intimate moment to read their vows in private first. The entire wedding party and family joined us at the first look location. We took care of all portraits outside with beautiful natural light before the wedding even started! It’s not every day that I get to be a Moscow Idaho wedding photographer, but it was so fun to make Bailey’s dream come true!
the ceremony + reception
With 350 guests invited to the ceremony and an additional 200 invited to the reception, Bailey and Bo planned an epic party no one could forget. Every detail was incredible. Their boho ceremony arbor was handmade with love and adorned with flowers. Also, I loved their pink velvet table runners and fairy lights strung inside. Happy Campers also provided a photo booth based out of Spokane, Washington in a vintage trailer with props for guests to use. It was hoppin’ all night long inside. I don’t think I have ever seen a more passionate group of dancers. Everyone stayed through the end of the reception for the sparkler exit with 500+ people lining the exit of the venue. I laughed all night long to every song and even jumped in a few photos with guests!
