Boise Idaho Fall Family Photos

When the Munson family reached out to me about taking Boise Idaho Fall Family Photos, I started scheming of adventurous places I could show them. This amazing family lives on the East Coast, but they wanted adventure family photos in Idaho. A lot of people ask me when the best time for fall family photos. By far, my favorite time to take Boise Idaho fall family photos is the first and second week of October. Usually, the surrounding mountains at higher elevation have started to change color. The aspens start turning orange and yellow near the end of September and tend to last a couple weeks. I love this rare window of time when it might still be warm in the Treasure Valley with sunny skies, but not freezing cold.

Adventure Fall Family Photos

I always recommend preparing your kiddos as much as possible when heading out for an adventure fall family photo session. In this case, we had more than an hour of driving to do to get to our spot! I love shooting near Bogus Basin Rd. Bogus Basin has lots of beautiful pine trees and is a perfect location for family photos. There are lots of huge rocks for kids to climb on, trails, and epic views. I always tell my family clients who are looking for unique and special family photos that we should take and adventure to Bogus Basin. The drive is stunning and you are rewarded with the most gorgeous landscapes at the top!

What does being a lifestyle family photographer really mean?

Of course, during any family photoshoot, I will always take a few photos just looking at the camera.

However, that’s where traditional family photos end. When I am hired for lifestyle family photos, you can expect me to ask your family and kids to play games, partake in races, run around, and have contests. My goal with lifestyle family photos is to create as many genuine interactions for me to capture. I also remind parents that things may get a little chaotic, but the chaos is worth it for full laughs and real giggles on camera. My other rule of thumb with lifestyle family photos is that kids are the boss. I want them to feel as comfortable and free to be themselves.
