When the Clemens’ family asked if I’d be their Boise Idaho Family Photographer… well, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. I was their Idaho elopement photographer almost 7 years ago! Marissa and Cody eloped in the Sawtooths here. This precious Stanley Idaho wedding was also published in Rocky Mountain Bride. My favorite thing about shooting weddings is that I get to continue documenting couples and their biggest milestones after their wedding. I’ve photographed Marissa & Cody’s engagement photos, elopement, newborn, and now family photos.
Lifestyle Family Session
Marissa wanted fall family photos in the mountains. She also expressed to me that she wanted them to feel very lifestyle and candid. As a lifestyle family photographer, I prioritize the kids having a great experience more than anything. My goal is to capture as many candid moments as possible. I can’t capture candid images of kids if they are in a bad mood, so I try to incorporate games, funny jokes, competitions, and more.
I took this beautiful family to a spot 45 minutes outside Boise in the mountains. The fall colors were stunning. The creek provides a stunning backdrop for family photos. You would never know that the temperature was in the 30s and dropped quickly as we took photos!
I love being a Boise Idaho Family Photographer. These kids had no problem running in the sand, getting a little dirty, and playing in the mountains. I didn’t even need to pull out a picnic blanket. I think it’s important during family photo sessions to get individual photos of each kid with each parent as well as some portraits of just mom and dad alone. I had so much fun hanging out with the Clemens. These are some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken! They are definitely some of my favorite lifestyle family photos I’ve ever taken in Boise!
