Kelle and Michael’s goal for their Hood River Oregon Wedding was to infuse their day with JOY. They wanted loud, unfiltered, colorful joy. And their vibrant summer wedding day became exactly that.
Hosting a Hood River Oregon Wedding wasn’t just about the views; it was where they first whispered “I love you”. The Columbia Gorge landscape became the perfect backdrop for a day that felt both intimate and exuberant. Choosing the Tin Roof Barn felt like an easy decision. The gorgeous weathered metal roof and rafters created a rustic canvas for their bold, playful vision. And the staff is known around Oregon for delivering exceptional customer service and warmth. Making their guests feel like family became a top priority as they started planning. They hoped every wedding vendor at their Hood River Oregon wedding would immerse themselves into their community and the fabric of their day.
Choosing A Colorful & Whimsical Wedding Palette for their PNW Oregon Wedding
From the moment guests arrived, the vibe was unmistakable: bright pops of pink and orange everywhere. From mismatched maroon & pink bridesmaids’ dresses and hand-painted signage and paper lanterns swaying in the summer breeze, every detail was personal to them. Kelle’s stunning bouquet of wildly eclectic blooms complimented the floral adorned wedding arch full of loud blooms. The decor completely reflected them. It was fearless, fun, and full of personality. Completing their “vibe” with thrifted furniture, quirky butter yellow tabletop centerpieces, and a record player guest book made their wedding perfect.
A Personal Wedding Ceremony Overlooking the Columbia Gorge in Hood River
Their ceremony was gentle and a little goofy in the best ways. Vows were personal and peppered with inside jokes that had the crowd alternating between wiping away tears and exploding into laughter. The tin roof barn made every clap and cheer resonate, turning each spontaneous cheer into a small, echoing celebration.
Food and drink kept the mood bright and community centered. Instead of a formal dinner, they shared family-style platters, playful late-night tacos , and signature cocktails named after songs that mattered to them. Their amazing wedding cake a semi-naked confection dotted with fresh berries and edible flowers. Everything felt cheerfully imperfect, much like their sense of style.
Candid Wedding Photos That Felt Carefree & Full of Laughter
When it was time for wedding portraits, I wanted to really capture Kelle and Michael’s authentic spirit. These two feel like grown up kids who are magnets for laughter. When it was time for bride and groom portraits, I used a lot of direction involving movement and skipping. I hoped to capture a lot of movement and impromptu laughs! Then, I focused on the small, candid moments of their people and family. : Those images all added to the feeling of a party thrown by people who truly love each other and refuse to take themselves too seriously.
An Epic Dance Floor Full of Personality
Music has always been a crucial foundation to their relationship. They spent months curating the perfect soundtrack of 90s/early 00’s alternative rock music that threaded through the whole day. Record were spinning during cocktail hour and their amazing DJ leaned into the metal/rock vibe. There were a few surprise acoustic numbers that had people grabbing hands and forming impromptu circles. They met toe-to-toe on the dance floor, smiling like it was the only place they wanted to be, and that energy was contagious. Even relatives who usually sit out the dancing were pulled in by the rhythm and the laughter.
As dusk fell, string lights came alive and the barn became a warm, glittering nest. The dancing intensified, feet kicked up dust, and big laughs echoed late into the night. It wasn’t about perfection. Nope! Their Hood River Oregon was about color, music, movement, and memory-making. In the end, their Hood River wedding was a bright, quirky, and utterly heartfelt celebration. It felt like a joyful promise renewed in the place where their story first turned toward forever.
