Idaho Wildflower Family Photos

The Rex family asked me to capture their Idaho wildflower family photos in the Boise foothills. Fall tends to be the most popular time for family photos, but here are three reasons why you should take your family photos in the spring! 1) WILDFLOWERS! In Idaho, the best wildflowers bloom in May through June. There are only a few weeks out of the year when balsamroot (the wild sunflowers), lupine, and coneflower bloom at the same time! They are stunning. 2) Longer days = more light! 3) The mountain peaks still have a bit of snow on them, creating a dramatic affect. Spring is my favorite season in Boise to take Idaho wildflower family photos!

Documenting families feels so special to me. I feel incredibly lucky when families ask me to document their families year after year. Watching kids grow up in front of my camera is such an honor. I have been lucky enough to document the Rex family for a few years now. This adorable family is the genius behind some of Boise Idaho’s best restaurants. They are the masterminds behind The Wylder, Wyld Child, Certified Boise, and Percy! I love supporting locally owned family businesses and their restaurants have some of the best food in the Treasure Valley. I consider myself pretty lucky that this passionate and caring family has supported me by hiring me for family photos!

Lifestyle Family Photos in Idaho

Letting kids run free through the Idaho landscape is my favorite thing to photograph. As a Boise lifestyle family photographer, it’s my goal to capture the real personalities of every person in the family. My philosophy regarding family photos is that the kids become the boss. I let kids take the lead and follow their cues, whether they feel silly or want to smile for the camera. The Rex kids are some of my favorite children to photograph. They have playful personalities that always come out during our shoots! Letting them run wild through the Boise foothills was such a blast.
