When Drew and Josh asked me to document their Many Glacier Hotel elopement in Montana, I jumped up and down. Glacier National Park is one of my all time favorite places in the world to visit and explore. After spending over 5 years living in Missoula, Montana, I spent my summer weekends in Glacier finding new hikes and spots to camp. Without a doubt, there is a magic that exists in Glacier you can’t find anywhere else. The jagged mountain peaks are so dramatic and the lakes and rivers are impossibly blue. As an elopement photographer, it really doesn’t get better. I could stare at the changing light on the mountain peaks forever.
How to Plan Your Glacier National Park Elopement
If you’re wondering how to plan your Glacier National Park elopement, I have a few tips and tricks!
- You need to apply for a permit if you are having a wedding ceremony of any kind with any amount of people. Yes, this includes symbolic ceremonies as well even without the official paperwork or an officiant. Here is a link to apply for a special use permit. It costs $125 to apply for the permit to get married in Glacier National Park.
- Consider the season of your elopement or wedding. Going To The Sun Road is only open July through September! To access many of the gorgeous locations within the park, you will need to drive on this road.
- Get married on a weekday if you’re conscious about crowds and the number of tourists. No one likes a photo-bomber or random stranger who invites themselves to listen to your wedding ceremony.
- Hire a leave-no-trace elopement photographer who is conscious about their impact on the local ecosystem, community, and national park. You can email me here!
- Planning a Many Glacier Hotel Elopement be easy! I have Many Glacier Hotel Wedding Package with a local florist, makeup artist, and officiant. The cost of a Glacier National Park elopement varies, but typically the average cost is between $7-15,000 depending on your guest count, activities, and elopement vendors.
