Planning Kate and Dave’s Sun Valley Engagement Photos in the Idaho Rocky Mountains outside Ketchum was such a blast. These two live in Virginia, so creating an experience that would blow them away made me so happy. I always love when I get to work with people who live out of state. Showing off Idaho and finding epic photo locations to show them the true gems of this amazing state feels so fulfilling to me. Kate told me they dreamed of an experience and a memory they wouldn’t forget. Sure enough, I took them off-roading to an insane mountain top view of the Idaho Rocky Mountains in the White Clouds. After planning their Sun Valley wedding from across the country, they had yet to experience the raw beauty of the Central Idaho mountains.

On a summer day in the Rocky Mountains, I recommend wearing sundresses, breezy linen, or a comfortable flowy top with your favorite comfy jeans for women. For men, I recommend tan or khaki pants with a comfortable button down or linen shirt. Jeans are also always a great option, but I tend to think tan or neutral pants stand out better against the landscape! Kate and Dave wore perfect summery outfits for their Sun Valley Engagement Photos that felt authentic to the landscape and their personality. While we were exploring the backroads and off road trails, I recommended they choose sturdier footwear. Kate wore cowboy boots and Dave wore nice boots.
