Graham and Leah's Edinburgh Scotland Anniversary photoshoot in Old Town was a dream. Leah started following me on Instagram four years ago when I traveled to Scotland for the first time to capture Emily and Chris' Isle of Skye Elopement. As luck would fate it, I ended up back in Scotland at the same time Graham and Leah moved to Edinburgh. While I was in the highlands, I received a message from Leah asking if I would be in Edinburgh. I replied instantly that I was going to be in Edinburgh for one more night on my return journey home. She asked if I might want to capture anniversary photos. I did not even have to think about it. Capturing a sweet couple in the old town streets of Edinburgh was simply a dream come true. I said yes and we made plans to meet the next day!
I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world. Yet, Edinburgh remains my favorite city in the world. The history in Edinburgh is unparalleled as well as the medieval architecture in Old Town Edinburgh is unparalleled. Edinburgh is filled with tiny pathways and cobblestone streets. It feels like every winding street and nook and cranny belong on a postcard. I was so excited to use the historic backdrop of Old Town for Graham and Leah's Edinburgh Scotland Anniversary Photoshoot.
Meeting Leah and Graham felt so easy. Right away, it felt like connecting with an old friend. Leah had an amazing opportunity to take an apprenticeship in Edinburgh for 5 weeks. Graham is a graphic designer and can work remotely. Leah and Graham are both artists and I felt their love for the city immediately. Connecting with artists who see the city and art in the same way I do was such a special experience!
Starting with one of my favorite spots in Edinburgh, we began at the Writer's Museum. We lucked out and had the whole square to ourselves. The Writer's Museum is an extremely popular stop on the Edinburgh Walking Tour and a first stop for many tourists. From the Writer's Museum, we walked along the Royal Mile up to the Castle. Shooting Leah and Graham was so effortless. We meandered through the streets, stopping along the way whenever I felt inspired to snap a few photos. We laughed in-between and chatted about our favorite pubs, coffee shops, and things to do in Scotland.
After we caught a perfect golden hour sunset, we found a pub and settled in to share drinks for several hours. It was such a special evening. I'll cherish the memories of documenting their Edinburgh Scotland Anniversary Photoshoot forever!
