Trica Castle Boise Idaho Wedding

Caroline and Gabe’s Boise Idaho Wedding at the Trica Castle in the North End was such a blast to be a part of. These two have an adorable love story: they met while sitting on a bus on their way home from a track tournament. Caroline and Gabe each had a secret crush on the other. On the fateful day they sat together on the bus, their crushes and friendship grew. After more than a year of back and forth questions of “are we more than just friends?” they sealed their fate forever by definitively making their relationship more than friends.

However, they graduated shortly after and both went separate directions after that. After 6 years of being long distance and supporting one another’s individual dreams in their careers, they finally moved to Seattle to begin their life together. This time, as an engaged couple.

Planning their wedding in Boise, Idaho was a no brainer. Gabe grew up in Boise and had a much larger family. They also dreamed of a fall wedding with fall colors and foliage outside. They chose to get married at Boise’s hidden wedding venue gem: Trica Castle.

A Perfect Fall Boise Idaho Wedding

On a perfect fall day in Boise’s North End, I met Caroline, Gabe, and their family at a nearby park. Caroline and Gabe chose to opt out of getting ready photos. Instead, they wanted to prioritize dancing photos at the end of the night. They also chose to have a first look without any cameras around. Moments before I arrived, they shared a private moment without any cameras or other people around. I thought it was genius!

My favorite memory of the day is tied. I loved their ceremony as much as I loved their reception!

Their wedding ceremony was officiated by Gabe’s own mother. The tears that filled her eyes throughout the ceremony were genuinely so beautiful. It felt so meaningful to hear her share stories about the two of them growing up together in their 20s. When parents and families come together to support a couple, it just gets me in the feels every time. It feels like such a positive sign for success!

My second favorite memory from their wedding was during their reception. Caroline is a huge Swiftie. She requested as many Taylor Swift songs as she could. When ‘Love Story’ came on, the entire room created a circle around them. Gabe got down on one knee. Caroline and Gabe were on the dance floor for every second of their party!

My last favorite memory? Caroline and Gabe set up a temporary tattoo bar with custom tattoos of their faces. All night, tattoos kept appearing on guests cheeks, foreheads, arms, and even a butt 😉

Boise Wedding Photographer

As a local Boise photographer, I have photographed countless couples in the foothills. I’ve shot engagement shoots in the foothills here and here. Caroline dreamed of fairytale sunset portraits in the foothills. For days leading up to their wedding, I drove up and down dirt roads leading into the foothills to find the perfect spot that was within an 8 minute drive of their wedding venue. We made it happen! We ran around at sunset in the foothills for a few moments before returning to their ceremony.
