April and Anne’s intimate Portland Oregon Wedding at The Blockhouse in North West downtown Portland felt full of intention and heartfelt emotion. After canceling their wedding in Idaho, they decided to get married months earlier than planned. Pulling together a whole wedding for 50 guests isn’t easy, but they made it happen. Dreaming of creating an inclusive and inviting atmosphere, they chose to invite only their closest friends and chosen family. In other words, anyone who did not support their marriage as two queer women were not invited. With a diverse group of queer and trans friends, it was most important that every Portland Oregon wedding vendor and guest be inclusive and supportive. Their vision came to life. I cried and laughed numerous times throughout their wedding day.

It’s possible you’ve seen several of blog posts featuring a Portland Oregon wedding on my website already. Portland feels like a creative’s dream. I love the lushness of the green rainforest, the moody weather, and magical feeling that lives in Oregon. One of my favorite Portland Wedding Venues is Coopers Hall. The all inclusive, urban space in downtown Portland has an industrial modern feeling. The Evergreen PDX is another urban downtown Portland wedding venue I’ve been lucky enough to shoot in! Next door to The Blockhouse is Castaway Portland, another popular Portland wedding venue featuring giant windows and brick walls for days.
