It’s always an honor to photograph Dexter and Drew so when their second baby was born, I was so excited to be their Boise Lifestyle Newborn Photographer once again. This family inspires me so much. I absolutely love photographing their family and every time we work together, I feel like I create some of my best work. They trust me to do my thing! I never have to second doubt myself when we work together. Over the years, we’ve become such close friends. I can show up to their house, feel completely welcomed, and take beautiful photos. Newborn Photos with a Toddler
It can be a little chaotic when taking newborn photos with a toddler! However, as a Boise Lifestyle Newborn Photographer, my best piece of advice is just embrace the crazy. I also recommend to parents that they reward their toddler with a new treat or toy during the photo session. They deserve to feel important and as involved as their new sibling! I try to make sure everyone is included in the session when I’m taking lifestyle newborn photos. Prompting toddlers with little games keeps them engaged and excited. I love letting moments unfold as naturally as possible!
Outdoor Lifestyle Newborn Session
My favorite thing about working with Drew and Dexter is that they encourage me to be fully creative. I’ve photographed them over eight times and I never want to replicate the same session. For their lifestyle newborn session, I wanted to show off their favorite space in their house. Their front yard is the place they spend the most time outside. It felt natural to incorporate their front yard into their photos because most of their memories take place there. Drew told me she dreamed of clean, summery, editorial lifestyle newborn photos. We hung up a simple white sheet in their giant front yard tree and it was perfect!
