My favorite part about capturing a destination wedding is the guest experience. Watching guests who have never been to or never heard of Idaho take in a place like Sun Valley feels magical. Although I grew up in Idaho, I still get butterflies when I see Mt. Baldy on a clear summer day. Also, there is just a special energy about seeing wedding guests “on vacation”. Usually, guests have a flair of vacation mode you don’t find at local weddings. Watching guests relax and enjoy the full wedding experience in a new place is so fun to capture and I love all the story telling moments that are possible as a destination photographer!

The locals here are also so well connected that if anything goes wrong- they only need to make one call or send one text to solve it. They are so well connected in the community that virtually any problem is easily fixable. Lastly, supporting a local community full of seasonal workers helps sustain the entire community!
