Downtown Boise Idaho Elopement

Shea and Justin’s downtown Boise Idaho elopement was a Parisian inspired spring dream come true. Inspired by lush gardens and tree lined streets on historic cobblestone, these two wanted to bring Paris to Boise. Their hometown of Boise Idaho is where they share a rich community of friends and family, but they wanted to bring their shared love for travel and romance to downtown Boise. Boise is actually nicknamed “the city of trees” or ‘Les Bois’ by the French who first arrived in Boise. There’s a little Boise history for you!

Idaho wedding venues tend to lean rustic and country. Our goal in helping Shea and Justin’s dream come to life was to show off Boise’s amazing urban architecture and industrial buildings. Downtown Boise is riddled with art deco design, an urban skyline, funky alleys, and more! Although Idaho is popular for its rocky mountains and countryside vibes, downtown Boise is cool. If you imagined a downtown Boise Idaho Elopement, I hope Shea and Justin inspire you!

How to Plan a Boise Idaho Elopement

Planning a Boise Idaho Elopement doesn’t have to be hard! Here are some tips to get the ball rolling.

  1. Decide if you want to elope at Boise City Hall, the Boise Capitol, or a Boise downtown wedding venue. If you are planning on having any guests, I recommend booking a venue to host a lavish dinner party and ceremony. I recommend The Lively, Waterbear Bar, Parcero Wine Bar, Bardenay, or the Linen Building.
  2. Buy your wedding outfits! I highly recommend A and Be in Boise for a modern wedding dress and Bespoke Boise for a custom suit.
  3. Hire a coordinator or elopement planner if you are hosting more than 10 guests. It will simplify your day to have someone else in charge! Emily Aitken Events is incredible at planning intimate weddings and elopements.
  4. I highly recommend investing in an incredible bridal bouquet and ceremony florals. Gorgeous florals make a huge impact in your photos and the feel of your elopement. Since you aren’t hosting a wedding for 100 guests, invest more money instead in your flowers! Rust and Thistle is local to Boise.
  5. Choose a Boise Wedding Photographer skilled in elopements and intimate weddings. Since your vendor list is small, your wedding photographer will likely be the only vendor you spend your entire wedding day with. Take time to meet with your photographer in person to make sure you feel comfortable in front of them. Their energy and attitude will impact how you feel on your wedding day!
