When Leigha and Katie emailed me about planning their summer Idaho Mountain Top Engagement photos, I was stoked. When searching for an LGBTQ wedding photographer, they said they connected with my work right away. There aren’t many queer wedding photographers in the state of Idaho and it’s an honor to be able to serve my community in Idaho. (Psst! We started making a plan for Leigha and Katie’s engagement photos and one thing that stood out to me when I talked to them is that they just wanted a private, fun experience in the mountains. Their upcoming wedding is in McCall, Idaho, so I knew exactly where to take them to avoid crowds. They had the amazing idea of bringing a beer along for the adventure from each of their home states: a Rainier for Seattle and a Miller High Life from Milwaukee. I love encouraging my couples to think about what elements they can incorporate into their Idaho Mountaintop Engagement Photos to make them personal. And they nailed it!
Locations Near Boise Idaho for Engagement Photos
I have several locations near Boise Idaho for mountain engagement photos. My most favorite spot is Bogus Basin. In the summer, you can find live music at the lodge as well as mountain biking and hiking trails! It’s the perfect spot within an hour of Boise to feel immersed on the mountains. You might recognize this spot because I took Kait and Peyton’s LGBTQ Engagement Photos at Bogus Basin as well! Visiting the top of Bogus Basin is such a treat.
Another photo location for engagement photos near Boise is Idaho City. Located on Highway 55, Idaho City is just 45 minutes from Boise. The epic canyon views and pine forests are beautiful here too. Check out Katie and Janelle’s Idaho mountain top engagement photos here!
My last recommendation for amazing photo locations is Garden Valley. Garden Valley is a little further from Boise and takes about an hour and twenty minutes to drive to. However, the rolling blue mountains are gorgeous. I also love the drive up Highway 21 towards Stanley. The river is so beautiful and lots of my couples enjoy the scenic views! Garden Valley is also home to my favorite wedding venue, Sixty Chapel!
