Boise Idaho & The Treasure Valley: Boise, Idaho is the capital of the state. With nearly a million people in the Treasure Valley, it has the largest airport. The urban conveniences make wedding planning easier with the resources of a mid-size city. There is a strong local Boise wedding network here, boutique 4 and 5 star hotels, and easy proximity to outdoor recreation without leaving the city.
Sun Valley Idaho: In the heart of the Idaho Rocky Mountains, you’ll find LUXURY mountain experiences in Sun Valley Idaho. What defines an intimate wedding and how to build your guest list

The definition of elopement to intimate wedding to larger wedding has some gray area. In my personal experience, an elopement contains 0-10 people. An intimate wedding has 10-50 people. And a regular wedding has 50+ guests. The expectations as a host tend to change based around your guest size as well. If you are inviting more than 10 people to your intimate wedding, there is usually a loose expectation of providing food and beverage for your guests. Of course, the benefit of a small intimate wedding is that you don’t necessarily always have to book a typical wedding venue to accommodate a smaller guest count!

When is the best time of year for an Intimate Wedding in Idaho?

The honest answer: there is no BAD time to get married in Idaho. The answer depends on what type of weather or season you love. You will find all four seasons in Idaho and you can find the best of every season in Idaho. If you love winter or skiing, you can plan a ski wedding weekend in Sun Valley. If you love the idea of fall and golden yellow colored aspens, Eastern Idaho in the Tetons is unbelievably beautiful. And if you love summer, the alpine lakes in Central & North Idaho will leave you speechless. And if you’re like me, the spring mountain wildflowers in May make my heart so happy.

Typically, peak wedding season in Idaho is June-October. Vendor flexibility is more difficult on peak Saturdays in peak months.
Wildfires have gotten worse in Idaho with global warming. August is the worst month in Idaho for wildfire season in Southern Idaho and the mountains.
Winter in North Idaho lasts from November through April. You’ll typically find heavy snow in Central and North Idaho during these months.
