Shore Lodge McCall Wedding
Crystal and Kevin’s Shore Lodge McCall wedding was so cozy and romantic. This sweet couple prioritizes experiences and family above everything else in their life. They are both avid travelers with a love for going hard and experiencing the world. It was only natural to bring 100 of their friends and family to their second home: McCall, Idaho. Coming all the way from Kentucky, Crystal and Kevin call McCall their favorite place in the world.
Idaho’s Best Wedding Venue: A Shore Lodge McCall Wedding
The Shore Lodge in McCall is my favorite wedding venue in Idaho. You may recognize this amazing venue from Kiley & Cory’s elopement I shot during Covid and Emma and Andy’s fall wedding. What sets the Shore Lodge apart is the incredible staff who goes above and beyond to make every guest feel special. The location right on the lake is also unparalleled. I’m also a huge fan of the Shore Lodge’s incredible food. Their chefs are out of this world. Shore Lodge is perfectly luxurious while also feeling grounded and relaxing. I also highly recommend their huckleberry martini at the cocktail bar!
Getting married at the Shore Lodge checked every box on Crystal and Kevin’s list. They wanted to choose a venue where all of their guests could stay in the same location. Picking a venue with the reception in the same place as the guest’s lodging made the most sense so their wild party could get home safely. Ensuring all their guests felt spoiled and like they are on vacation was also a priority. Every single guest traveled from all over the country so they wanted their guests to feel transported to a awe-spiring world. The Shore Lodge definitely delivers in the awe category.
Mountain Top Wedding Portraits
Although their wedding venue was the perfect spot because all their guests could be in one place, I wanted to give the bride and groom an opportunity to step away from the venue. Some of my best wedding advice is to find any time you can to spend quality alone time with your partner on your wedding day. Whether that’s a first look in a separate spot or sunset portraits elsewhere, that time alone is sacred. And probably the only time you’ll be alone all day!
Kevin and Crystal wanted to do things their own way, however. They chose to get ready together in their hotel room surrounded by their friends and 8 year old daughter. It eased their nerves and added time together in the day they otherwise wouldn’t have had. One of my favorite memories all day was watching Kevin zip up Crystal’s dress and seeing Crystal help Kevin perfect his tie. It was so sweet watching them help one another into their wedding attire.
After getting ready, I stole them away. We drove to a scenic location overlooking Payette Lake. We took portraits and had moments to just stare at the view in awe. Getting 30 minutes away from the venue created such an emotional, intimate moment to ground them. I watched their bodies relax into one another and savor the day.
