Fashion forward & fun loving couple, Taylor and Cory threw the celebration of a lifetime for their wedding at The Lively Boise. The Lively Boise is a STUNNING new downtown restaurant in Boise, Idaho with surprises around every corner. Every square inch of this amazing establishment is decked out in style, personality, and chic moments. Also, it’s the perfect Boise wedding venue for any modern, non-traditional couple who wants to party and spoil their guests with the absolute best hospitality experience in Boise.
To host a wedding at The Lively, the restaurant offers an entire buyout of the entire restaurant. This includes use of their speak easy bar, entire upstairs dining room, downstairs bar, and the entire space. For their guests traveling from around the country, their spectacular wedding was an opportunity to shower their guests in love. Building a chosen family and supportive community is one of the things is most proud of as a couple. For a couple who loves with their whole heart, they chose the perfect non-traditional wedding venue to celebrate with their loved ones.
Documenting their wedding at The Lively Boise felt truly special and meaningful. And I will cherish every moment spent on the dance floor singing to Taylor Swift and Chappel Roan with these two!

For decades, the most common places you could find couples in Boise wedding getting married was inbarns and random fields. Thankfully, the Treasure Valley expanded in the last decade bringing a variety of updated options. Non-Traditional Wedding Ideas for Your Wedding
For Cory and Taylor, they knew a traditional wedding was not their style. However, they leaned into what felt right for them and threw an incredible wedding that honored who they are as a couple. If you are thinking about having a non-traditional wedding venue, here are some tips
- Be prepared to throw a wedding at a “non-traditional wedding venue”. What does this mean? Some Airbnb’s allow couples to host intimate weddings or events on their property. Also, consider public parks, art museums, restaraunts such as The Lively Boise, campgrounds, and more.
- Ditch any tradition that doesn’t feel “right” for you. Whether you don’t feel like sharing personal vows in front of everyone, getting rid of first dances, saving your speeches for the rehearsal dinner, having a private ceremony prior to the reception- you can do anything. There are no rules!
- Invite who you want. And skip the rest. Yes, I’m telling you that you don’t have to invite the emotionally abusive family members you do not want present on your day.
- Dress how you want! Not everyone is comfortable in a traditional wedding dress. And not everyone wants to wear an all black-tux. Think outside the box and wear what makes you feel your best.
- If you want your guests to dress in a specific way, make a dress code! Cory and Taylor chose to roll out a red carpet for their friends and family to make their grand entrance. More often, it’s becoming common for couples to choose a color palette or strict dress code. It’s your day- you can do what feels right!
- Skip the wedding vendors you don’t jive with. And if you don’t feel the need to hire a wedding videographer, a florist, a traditional bar tender, a professional team of makeup artists- no one says you have to! Only hire the people you trust and believe will add to your wedding experience.
