Woodlands House Oregon Elopement
Marissa and Cullen’s Woodlands House Oregon Elopement was a fairytale dream come true. Hosting a large wedding never felt true to them. These two value quality time with their loved ones, exquisite food, and experiences above anything else. Early on, Marissa told me that all she wanted from her intimate wedding was to feel swept away by the location and destination. She also dreamed of an amazing meal, incredible wedding photos, and an intimate carefree experience with just her closest family members.
I was lucky enough to work with the one and only Emily Aitken Events to make Marissa and Cullen’s Woodlands House Oregon Elopement a dream come true. Emily Aitken and I work together often around the world. You may recognize our work together from this Stanley Idaho Elopement in the Sawtooths. We also collaborated for this incredible Sixty Chapel Idaho Wedding. I photographed Emily’s Scotland wedding in the Isle of Skye. We’ve become close friends and if you need a down to earth, kind, extremely organize, talented wedding planner, she’s the best there is.
A Woodlands House Oregon Elopement
When couples ask what they can do to minimize stress on their wedding day, my best recommendation is to keep everything on site. Emily found the Woodlands House early on. This amazing venue is actually an Airbnb. Also, it doubles as an incredible wedding venue! The cabin fit all of Marissa and Cullen’s guest. Plus, if you value privacy, there is an additional private modern cabin on site. Marissa and Cullen chose to sleep there in the separate cabin for privacy.
The incredible Woodlands House property felt otherwordly. Finding a location to elope in Oregon with complete privacy can be difficult if you are limiting your search to state parks or national parks. However, renting an Airbnb with a gorgeous view is an amazing elopement hack. We were allowed to use their entire multi-acre property to choose a ceremony location. We didn’t need to leave the property at all which simplified everything.
A Private Chef Catered Their Elopement Dinner
Marissa and Cullen are major foodies. They share a love for cooking and didn’t want to sacrifice an incredible meal on their wedding day when they chose to elope deep in the woods. After searching high and low, Emily found an amazing private chef. My favorite memory of their wedding day was watching their families eat together in the gorgeous greenhouse under candlelight. This incredible private chef created a custom menu for Marissa and Cullen. He even planned seven courses with wine pairings! Between each course, he described how he made the food and discussed the locally sourced organic ingredients.
I loved every moment of this magical elopement. From their magical first look in the fern forest, to their personal vows, to getting ready with their parents and grandparents, to their laid back calm attitudes all day- it was completely relaxed and perfect.
