I was thrilled when this Oklahoma couple asked if I was available to photograph their Destination Engagement Photos in the Rocky Mountains. This sweet couple did things a little differently. Back home, they didn’t get professional engagement photos taken. They planned their Oklahoma wedding at home and decided to spend their honeymoon in the amazing Rocky Mountains. When I received their initial email, they told me they were already married, but wanted to take the destination engagement photos they never took during their honeymoon. I said absolutely, sign me UP!
Best Photo Locations for Couple Photos in Idaho
Whenever people are traveling to Idaho from a less… mountainous state, I love to put my host hat on. Spoiling a couple by sharing some of my favorite personal photo locations near Boise is one of my specialities. Because it was Mindy and Brooks’ first time in Idaho, I knew I wanted to take them to one of my favorite canyon locations with views of the Rocky Mountains near Melba. This spot is somewhat allusive and I have so many personal memories here. Mindy saw some of my favorite destination engagement photos here so I told them to plan a picnic for a romantic honeymoon date night. I lead the way in my car while they followed behind me for the best date night, engagement photo session ever!
Engagement Photos: What to Wear
The most common question I get from couples is: what do I wear? It’s easy to want to spend a lot of money on all new outfits. However, I recommend going to your own closet first! Start with an outfit you’d wear for a fun brunch or casual date night to the movies. Think comfortable but put together. Then, pick a dressier outfit you might wear on an anniversary, special occasion, or “fancy” date night out where you live. Often, a comfortable outfit you already love is going to look more natural than a brand new outfit you’ve never worn. If you want to splurge on new shoes, jewelry, or accessories- I recommend splurging in those areas rather than a new look!
