LGBTQ Idaho Engagement Photos
Hannah and Audree’s stunning LGBTQ Idaho Engagement Photos took place in the Boise Foothills on a beautiful spring day. You never know what you are going to get when you take photos outdoors in the springtime in Idaho, but luckily for us, we were treated with a beautiful golden hour. It almost felt like summer! Hannah and Audree are getting married in the spring of 2024. We planned their engagement photos in their hometown of Boise. I loved these two the moment we met. They carry such an infectious energy about them! These two are always smiling and have such a sweet, fun demeanor.
LGBTQ Boise Wedding Vendors
If you’re queer, you know finding queer friendly safe businesses can be hard in Idaho. And if you are planning an LGBTQ wedding in Idaho, it can feel even more challenging. If you are looking for an LGBTQ photographer, I recommend reaching out to me, Rosie Nary Photography, or Jamie Anderson Photo. My favorite LGBTQ friendly wedding vendors in Boise include Sixty Chapel, the Idaho Botanical Gardens, the Cottage at Riverbend, the CW Penthouse. The best florists who are queer friendly are Rust & Thistle, Wildflower Co, and Petal Works Design.
Tips for Better Engagement Photos
- Meet with your photographer before your photo session. I always try to meet my couples in real life before we shoot together! I find it helpful to get the small talk and introductions out of the way before I even lift a camera. It will help you feel comfortable and make you feel confident that you can trust your photographer!
- Plan your engagement photos as if it’s a date night. Choose a fun activity you enjoy doing together and ask your photographer to tag along. Maybe you love eating pizza together! Or maybe you love going on hikes at a specific trailhead. If you share a love for going to breweries, ask your photographer to meet you at your favorite brewery to start your session there. I like to break the ice by photographing a couple enjoying an activity together first before going to a second location for photos.
- Ask your engagement photographer for photos of the location where you will be shooting. Then, plan your outfits around that. Use the color wheel to choose complimentary colors to your location. For example, if you’re shooting in a green lush forest, reds, terracotta, browns, pinks, and yellows all look great with green.
- Let your photographer know ahead of time how much PDA you’re comfortable with. A great photographer won’t ask you to do things you aren’t comfortable doing. Some couples are naturally more PDA friendly, whereas some couples are more silly and goofy. Everyone is different!
